My New Project and Pumpkins!

This is my new project, my garage. It looks clean right, well you can't see all the ugliness on the other side. Unfortunatly when you enter my house everyone uses my ugly garage, it's the easiest way to come in. Well I decided I should at least clean up my entrance, I painted this little area and Jeff is making me a shelf with hooks to go along this wall that you see here, he is doing it as I write! God I love him! So this is to be continued........( Oh yeah, see that dresser I found that at a yard sale a while back for $10.00. Don't ya love those kind of finds.)
I was playing last night and put this little display together on my buffet, I love my white pumpkins! I also used some of the china set that I purchased while visiting my Aunt Cynthia last year in N.J., I payed $5.00 for them at a rummage sale and I knew they would be perfect for Fall, the design on them is a burnt orange color with roses of coarse! It seems really quite out there in blogland , can anyone else tell when everyone seems to take a break from blogging or am I the only crazy one that seems to sense this? LOL.I think I may be the only one stuck at home on this holiday weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday.

One Sweet Lady and Her Beautiful House!

If you haven't visited Becky over on her bloghttp://oneshabbyoldhouse.blogspot.com/ then you should take a trip over there and check out her dream home. They bought this beautiful old victorian home to retire to and they are in the process of restoring it. They are eventually going to have a bed and breakfast in the home and her husband Dave is going to have his fishing guide business there also. When you get a chance stop by and visit her blog. She also has several other blogs that I have listed on my fav's~Lace and Lures and Fresh Gatherings where she has items for sale. I have enjoyed talking with Becky and we will soon have the chance to meet each other, she is also in the Florida area. Enjoy!!

Cute Stuff!

I just wanted to show everyone some cute banners I purchased at Michael's Craft Store. They are from Martha Stewart and I thought they were so cute and they look vintage. The first one says Happy Halloween and the second one says Give Thanks, it has glittered letters. Don't worry I don't have my decorations for the holiday out yet(Fall yes but not Halloween yet). I just hung them to take a pic for all of you in case you wanted to run out and get yourselves some! Martha has some really cute decorations this year. Hope you like them.
I know everyone probably knows this already but you can click in the pic to enlarge.

A New view!

A view from kitchen into my dining room that is! I don't think I ever took a picture from my kitchen, see my island, Jeff made that for me, I still have to add some appliques to it but I love it and man does it give me lots of room for my junk! I also moved my fireplace into my living room and put my buffet cabinet back in my dining room, it was just looking to crowded to me. Who knows next week the dining room might be in the living room and vise versa!!LOL. Actually I did that a couple of weeks ago and all in the same day moved everything back to where it was. Crazy! I put two pic's on here to show how different the lighting came out and I did them at the same time, oh well, the second one kind of gives it a night time appeal. OOps I just noticed I left a pic on my chair. Don't mind that please. Happy Monday everyone. For those who were checking on my RMS, did you notice I fell off the face of the earth over there, what's up with that? Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! Hugs~Kelly

UPDATE: I am just beyond excited that I have made the front page of Rate My Space!!!!! I'm not a bragger but it is such an honor that out of over 47,000 rooms, fancy ones at that , my little cottage kitchen that I have done on a budget, has made it's way to the top!!!! I can't believe it! Thank you to all who came over there to vote for me (;.

Update #2~These people are brutal!!! Sheesh! Ya know the ones that leave the nasty comments over there on RMS are the ones who don't have their rooms up there to share with everyone. It is tough to take the mean comments!!

Cute Lamps, Hand Painted Tray and Back to School!

Well the kids started school today and my house is soooo quite! Nice but a little sad at the same time, so since I had some time on my hands I thought I would show you these cute lamps I picked up at Homegoods the other day(you can click on the pic to enlarge) they have a rose applique on them and such pretty shades! Perfect size for my fireplace and so romantic at night.
I also bought this tray to put on one of my ottomans. It is hand painted and the colors are just perfect! I hope everyone has a great day and those of us in Fl. whose kids were delayed a few days starting school, thanks to Fay, I hope they have a safe and happy 1st day of school!!

Sneak Peek!

I took another pic today of my dresser with the flowers opened up, I guess they didn't die they just close up at night, thank goodness, the pic below I took later in the evening. Have a great Sunday ladies!
Oops I did my pic's in the wrong order. Anyway I started my garden dresser project. I painted it white and added some draught tolerant ferns and decided to plant dishes with flowers on them instead of flowers! Not really but I think I'm the only person who could plant a flower and in the same day it dies, I hope the flowers I planted in here just close up at night or I'm going to be very upset): The picture up above is how I did the plates, I saw this on http://vintagerosecollection.blogspot.com/ JoAnne also put these in her garden and I thought it was so cute, thanks for sharing JoÃnne. I just hot glued an old fork to the back of a dish and then put the prongs into the dirt , you can also write little sayings on the dishes to. Well thats all for now other than did you see we are probably going to have a hurricane here in S. FL. wouldn't you figure I finally get out there to work in my little garden and now I'll have to drag it all back in! Hopefully we just get lots of rain. Thanks for stopping by and I'll post more as soon as I get more done. (;

Oh and I almost forgot about my bunny I added to the drawer but he'll go back to his other house in my yard when I find a rooster to put in here for fall, but the one I saw today that I liked was $30.00 and that is just to much, so I'll wait a little while and see what else I can find.

Fall Goodies!

Well I've been trying to be good and stay away from Homegoods but it really isn't my fault as I got closer my car automatically turned right in there, I didn't have anything to do with it, the car has a mind of it's own!LOL. Anyway I found these candle holders for my table (for now) believe it or not I did not have any matching wooden candle holders.
I bought this swan on clearance just cause I thought she was so pretty!

I added a couple of roosters to my collection and I found this cute wooden stand for them, I love the scalloped edges on it. This candle smells so good right now as I'm typing.

And just to add a little whimsy for fall I found this throw, I liked the colors together pink and brown! I never buy animal prints but I guess I liked this one because of the pink!

I can't believe I'm showing this picture because my yard looks horrible but it will look different when I get it done, have I ever said I am not a gardener, my Husband put up this cozy little fence area in front of my front patio, this is where I want to put my dresser if I ever get it done! It is just so hot here, I might wait till it cools off a little bit. I don't know if you can see the sky in this pic but we are going to have a terrible summer storm, those clouds look bad! I'm hurrying to get this post done before my power goes out, I always end up posting when it gets ready to rain. Talk soon(;
P.S. We are also replacing my front porch railings and posts, just in case anyone notices they need it.

Is it Fall Yet??

Well I'm ready for Fall, It has been so hot here in Florida and of coarse on the day we almost set a record for heat I decided to start decorating for Fall. I added slip covers to my chairs and some antique linens. I used some vintage pins to attach the linens. I put my pink flowers away and added some fall flowers to the sideboard/dresser. Maybe it will make the heat a little easier to deal with thinking about cooler weather that will eventually make it's way to Fl. LOL . I haven't started my dresser project yet although I did remove the veneer, with a few splinters in my fingers! I can't decide what I am going to do with it yet, inside or outside?? Have a fun weekend everyone!

My dresser Obsession!!

Okay this is my problem, I can't stand to see antique dresser's or anything else antique thrown away! It really bugs me. If I don't stop and pick it up then I can't stop thinking about it being left out for the garbage! This dresser was across the street from me and I stopped to look at it and I drove off without it but every so often I would peek out the window to see if it was still there. I told my husband that it was calling my name and he just laughed at me, a few hours later my son came in and said Dad needs you outside for a minute, I walk outside and this is what I saw, Jeff and my son had taken the truck across the street and loaded up the dresser for me and brought it home!!! They both got kisses. I just thought it was so sweet of them because any other man would have considered it firewood! I don't know if it is salvagable but Í'm gonna try. Just look at the carvings on it, it's roses! I thought maybe I could paint it and use it for a dresser in my garden?? We'll see. Have a great week everybody~Kelly

My Scotty Dog Pillows

I was visiting Becky over at http://sweetcottagedreams.blogspot.com/she has been decorating her guest bedroom, if you haven't stopped by to visit her today then you should, her bedroom is adorable. She added her special touch with her Scotty Dog pillow, so I thought it would be fun to show you the pillows I have, the one on the left is one that I found at a yard sale and it is kind of worn out so my sweet Mom made me another one just like it so I ended up with two homemade treasures. I usually decorate with these in my vintage camper . Talk Soon.

I escaped ( well for a little while)!

I finally made it over to Homegoods for a little while, I was having withdrawls! LOL. I found these plates that are so cute, they came in a box of four for only $6.99! Can't beat that .I think they are so sweet. I also found this sweet little picture, it says "It's good to be home" and the little flowers on it are made out of felt. Well that's it for now I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I'll talk soon!
